Fantastic stay

"We stayed overnight the beds were really comfortable and we had a great nights sleep, we went in the bar for a meal and we could not fault it. I had the steak and ale pie the steak just melted in my mouth and so lean, my husband had the fish and chips, the fish was fresh and Snow White, batter was wafer thin perfect, the staff are so friendly and welcoming and we had a good laugh, the breakfast was spot on and cooked to perfection even had black pudding, we would recommend this lovely pub/ B&B and will definitely stay again, also dog friendly."

Brilliant pub food + great beer!

"We visited for a Friday family meal and I’m pleased to say it was brilliant!
Reviews were good plus there were strong recommendations from local pub guides. All spot on. The landlady could not have been more welcoming and friendly. They are clearly recognised as a supplier of top notch real ale, if that’s your bag, by the number of CAMRA awards around the place.

It’s a “proper pub” with a great atmosphere and cracking food. It’s all home made. We shared some Blanchbait and squid rings to get the ball rolling. The stars of the show were the home made pies. All pretty substantial in size and full of flavour. I had the fish pie: superb. Other meals included turkey and leek pie and the steak pie, both of got thumbs up.

The menu is pretty substantial and there are a number of daily specials in boards on the walls. Loved the place and will certainly be back when we are next in this neck of the woods."

Couldn’t have stayed anywhere better
"Stayed here as a stop over with my partner and his parents on the way to Cornwall from Shropshire and picked the perfect place.
Pub serving great (and affordable) food, £4 a pint and a dog who just wants a scratch.
Breakfast was wonderful with proper coffee, bed sheets were lovely and soft. Quiet all night due to location.
Landlady was super friendly, helpful and enjoyed a laugh!
Would 100% stay here again, can’t speak highly enough especially for the price!"
